Its a book about how a mother and her children go to the moms mom and dads house because they are broke. The children are told they are going to be there so that the mom can get close with her dad again, so that she will inherit money when he dies cause the grandparents are rich. So the children agree to stay and the grandparents are really mean to the grandchildren and lock them in this room which has a door way that leads up to the attic..they are getting food brought to them and they start dieing off and becoming really sick. The mom is poisoning them all along and she was trying to finish them off. So then they try to escape. The book was band in Richmond high school in Rhode Island for incest between two of the kids. In 1994, it was removed from the Oconee County school libraries due to "the filthiness of the material." It is a good story that gives us all a reality check and i think everyone should be allowed to read it if they want to. How did the book become band in that library?
